January 26 marks the International Day of Clean Energy,<\/strong> estabilshed by the United Nations.
This day celebrates the anniversary of the founding of IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency).

As an energy\u2011intensive company, since 2010<\/strong> at Midac we\u2019ve been investing in the energy transition<\/strong> through the installation and expansion of our photovoltaic systems to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to the Net Zero target set by the Paris Agreement.<\/strong>

Over the past five years,<\/strong> the energy produced by the photovoltaic systems at our production sites in Soave and Cremona has amounted to 9.1 GWh.<\/strong> If the same amount of energy had been purchased from the national electricity grid, it would have resulted in emissions of 2,144 tonnes of CO\u2082 equivalent (tCO\u2082eq), equal to a volume of 1 million cubic meters \u2014 roughly 400 Olympic\u2011size swimming pools.
The energy transition toward renewable sources is currently an economic necessity,<\/strong> but it is also an opportunity<\/strong> for development and a duty<\/strong> toward present and future generations.
