INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CLEAN ENERGY

January 26 marks the International Day of Clean Energy, estabilshed by the United Nations.
This day celebrates the anniversary of the founding of IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency).
 
As an energy‑intensive company, since 2010 at Midac we’ve been investing in the energy transition through the installation and expansion of our photovoltaic systems to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to the Net Zero target set by the Paris Agreement.
 
Over the past five years, the energy produced by the photovoltaic systems at our production sites in Soave and Cremona has amounted to 9.1 GWh. If the same amount of energy had been purchased from the national electricity grid, it would have resulted in emissions of 2,144 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂eq), equal to a volume of 1 million cubic meters — roughly 400 Olympic‑size swimming pools.
The energy transition toward renewable sources is currently an economic necessity, but it is also an opportunity for development and a duty toward present and future generations.
