Circular economy: MIDAC - a key player in the battery life cycle
As a battery manufacturer, MIDAC is responsible for the entire life cycle of its products, from the design stage to end of life.
This is a key strategy for the transition to a circular economy.
MIDAC is one of the founders of the Consortium ECOPOWER, which is not a so-called ‘waste trader’, but a qualification and control system for the supply chain whose ultimate goal is to recoup used lead batteries and produce recycled lead to supply to members who produce new batteries.
This is how the life cycle of lead-acid batteries comes to a virtuous close: used batteries become a resource.
MIDAC is committed to closing the life cycle for lithium-ion batteries. Find out how
Our actions for a sustainable future
It is on the three pillars of sustainability – Environmental, Social and Economic – that MIDAC bases its work.
MIDAC has adopted a medium-to long-term environmental sustainability plan which aims to make its products and production processes, transport and waste management more sustainable, raise employee awareness and promote activities with a positive environmental impact.
Over time, the company has adopted an Integrated Management System for Quality, Environment and Occupational Health and Safety, certified according to international standards.
MIDAC has adopted the cardinal principles of social responsibility laid down by the SA8000 standard and adopted an Organisation and Management Model pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree No.231/2001 and a Code of Ethics, to guarantee good behaviour, loyalty, transparency and fairness.
On a social front, MIDAC voluntarily adheres to the Eurobat programme for the ongoing reduction of its employees’ lead levels from the legally required levels.
In addition, MIDAC establishes ties with its local area and future generations, hosting secondary schools and collaborating with the ITS ACADEMY in Verona.
Certifications
We believe that the integration of Quality, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety processes is an added value.
We are committed to maintaining and continually improving a Management System that complies with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, integrated into the company’s business processes.

2nd Life & Recycling
In view of the circular economy, MIDAC is focusing on the ambitious goal of closing the life cycle of its Li-ion batteries by reusing and recycling materials to implement a closed value chain, for even more sustainable production.
